Do you enjoy photography? Would you like to meet like-minded enthusiasts and get better at it in the process?
Welcome to the Burton on Trent Photographic Society.
Almost everyone enjoys taking photographs these days. However if you want to develop your skills and take more satisfying photographs, and have fun doing it, joining a camera club is an excellent step, where anyone with an interest in photography can meet, share ideas and develop their skills. You do not need to be an expert to be a member, or have an expensive camera – all you
need is an interest
in photography or photographic art.
Our regular programme includes a number of high-quality visiting speakers, aiming to inspire and inform. Talks cover a range of different topics and genres, and you should find plenty of interest.
We also run workshops and informal 'how to do it' sessions to help you learn new skills and techniques.
Each month we hold a print and digital image competition with three different categories
to cater for all levels from
beginners, intermediates to
the more advanced photographers. External judges give considered feedback on each entry to help you improve and score each entry. At the end of the season a variety of trophies are awarded to the authors of the best images. It is a great way
to share your pictures and get helpful comments and feedback. Competitions are also fun for those with a competitive streak!
The Society also takes part in external competitions with other local clubs in midlands and north.
We have an Annual Exhibition during the year where member’s photographs are showcased and we also enter national competitions as a club and have wider links through the Midland Counties Photographic Federation.
We are a friendly and welcoming society. For more information visit our website: https://burtonps.co.uk/ or ring our General Secretary, Lu Duckett, on 01283 740291
