Awwwww! What could be cuter than dogs in the office right? Who wouldn’t want a magical little pupperino lounging about under their desk making cute faces up at them all work-day long! Swoon!
Well we’re all in luck! This month we see ‘Bring Your Dog To Work Day’ happening on Friday the 22nd June. So you’ve got plenty of time to plead and plead and plead with your managers and bosses to let you bring your furriest of friends along with you.
‘Bring Your Dog To Work Day’ is an annual nationwide event that raises money for charities dedicated to making a difference to the welfare of dogs. On Friday 22nd June, businesses from across the UK will welcome their dog loving employees into the workplace, along with their loyal four-legged companions, all in the name of charity. It’s the fifth national event of its kind.
All proceeds this year go to dog rescue charity ‘All Dogs Matter’, a charity that rescues and rehomes more than 300 dogs a year and has three members of staff. The dogs in their care are either strays, are relocated from pounds, or simply come from owners who can no longer keep them. A mixture of foster homes and kennel spaces are used to take care of the dogs. Above all, the day promises to be a lot of fun for all those involved. It’s time to give your dog a job!
Many scientific studies have concluded that the presence of pets can substantially reduce a person’s stress level in the workplace. Increased job satisfaction, team co-operation and morale have all been reported in employees that spend the workday with their pets.
