This April we highlight how stressful modern life can be. With the fast pace and never having enough hours in the day, it’s easy to feel like life is running away with you. Stress Awareness Month has been recognized every April since 1992. Learning to cope with our stress and finding healthy ways to deal with these situations can go a long way in living a healthy and positive life. After all, stress can impact many aspects of your body.

Here are some tips to reduce stress in your life...

Coping with Chaos
Chaos often causes physical stress, a common side effect of anxiety. Try to breathe mindfully and find a moment of calm from within. Breathe out to release tension.

Talk to yourself as a friend would talk to you. Be kind to yourself. Give yourself permission to be peaceful

Life Focus
Give yourself permission to let problems and anxious feelings fall away naturally; look at them with indifference and spend your time mentally reinforcing the positive instead.

Manage Anxiety
Allow thoughts to come and go, but as soon as you realize you’re lost in negative thought, pivot your thinking back to the more positive and productive things in your life.

Stop focusing on
your effort to achieve
When you’re overwhelmed imagine the light beam filling up each part of your body, from your toes to your head. Allow the warmth, light, and spaciousness to melt away any tension in the body.
